Dr. Ericka Burns

Ericka Burns brings a rich background in K-12 education to our team, with a primary commitment to optimizing educational services for all students. Renowned as a distinguished leader in school and district accountability and improvement. Ericka previously served as the Assistant Superintendent for Learning and Instruction in the Chicago area. Her journey in education commenced as a teacher in Chicago, and she later contributed significantly to Denver Public Schools in Colorado, holding roles such as teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and director of policy for the district.

In her pursuit of enhancing educational opportunities for all students, Ericka has actively championed various K-12 school models and governance structures. Her expertise extends to supporting district-run as well as charter and innovation schools and networks in their journey towards improvement.

Ericka holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership and Policy, emphasizing school quality and culturally inclusive district leadership. Her academic achievements reflect her dedication to advancing educational practices that foster inclusivity and excellence.
